Passport to Careers

The Passport to Careers program is designed to meet the educational needs and life goals of current Lewis County Foster Youth or alumni of foster care between the ages of 15-26.

Services Available

  • Assistance with applications for admission, financial aid (FAFSA), Education Training Voucher (ETV), and Passport to College and Governor’s scholarships
  • Referrals to community agencies (including Community Youth Services, Catholic Community Services, College Success Foundation, Washington Student Achievement Council, and Department of Social and Health Services)
  • Connection to youth activities, such as Mockingbird Society and Make it Happen
  • Study room with computer access
  • Encouragement to participate in on-campus activities
  • Academic progress reports

Scholarship Opportunities

  • College Bound Scholarship – This is a four-year scholarship to be used within five years of high school graduation. All foster youth in grades 7-12, as well as all foster youth up to age 21 who have not graduated high school, are automatically enrolled in the program.
  • Passport to College Scholarship – Foster youth may be eligible to receive $5,000 per academic year, as well as specialized support services and priority consideration for a State Need Grant.
  • Additional scholarship information is available via Independence for Washington Foster Youth.
