Commencement Ceremony

The 2025 commencement ceremony will be held at 4pm Wednesday, June 18, on Littel Commencement Field (near the clocktower) on the main Centralia College campus.

Caps, gowns, and honor cords may be picked up in Enrollment Services through June 17.

  • 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday
  • 8am-12pm Friday

The Enrollment Services office will close at 10am on the day of commencement.

Honor and high honor students will receive silver or gold honor cords. Highest honor students will receive medallions and gold honor cords. Cords will be passed out in Enrollment Services when you pick up your cap and gown.

Commencement will be outside – rain or shine. 

All participating graduates need to check in on the first floor of the TransAlta Commons starting at 2pm but no later than 3pm. Use the entrace off West Pear Street. Do not leave valuables behind.

The processional will begin at exactly 4pm.

Enrollment Services staff members will be assisting you in TAC. Do not be late.

Two lines will be formed for the processional march. The persons in front and behind you in line will be sitting next to you during the ceremony.

When you check in at TAC, you will receive your name card. Please give this card to the reader as you enter the stage during the ceremony. They will read your name and announce your degree and honors.

You will proceed across the front stage when your name is announced. You will receive a diploma cover (your diploma will be mailed later) and a handshake from a member of the Board of Trustees. You then exit down the center ramp of the stage to receive a handshake from Centralia College President Dr. Bob Mohrbacher then return to your seat and sit down.

Borrowed gowns may be dropped off in TAC after the ceremony, but MUST to be returned to Enrollment Services before Thursday, July 3, to avoid a replacement fee charge. 

Your diploma will be mailed to you within 60 days of spring quarter grades posting.

Commencement will be outside – rain or shine. No tickets are needed but seating is limited. Please arrive early in the afternoon to find parking and to be seated. The processional will begin at exactly 4pm. There are a limited number of chairs. It is recommended that guests bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on.

Students are encouraged to park in the Athletic Field Lot located on the corner of Rock St. and Centralia College Blvd. Guests can park in any parking stall behind the Library and TransAlta Commons buildings that is not reserved or marked for disabled parking.

There is limited seating in the Accommodations tent. Individuals needing accommodations may have one guest in the tent with them. All other members of their party must find seating in the general audience. 

All buildings on campus will be open for restrooms.

For graduates, the tassel should be on the right side of the cap.

Graduation announcements and souvenir tassels are available for purchase at the bookstore.

A photo booth will be set up for pictures prior to the commencement ceremony.

The commencement ceremony will be broadcast live. Family and friends who are not able to attend can watch the ceremony by visiting Centralia College YouTube.

How to Apply for Graduation

In order for your degree to be awarded and to receive information for the Commencement Ceremony, you must apply for graduation. The Graduation Application will determine if you are eligible to obtain your certificate or diploma. Information regarding the Commencement Ceremony will be sent mid-March. There is no fee to apply for graduation or to participate in Commencement.

Diplomas

Centralia College will mail diplomas approximately 60 days after the end of the quarter in which the requirements for the program has been completed and verified. Diplomas will be mailed to the address on the student’s record.
