College Committees
Centralia College has a number of standing committees that need student members. The student voice is vital in college leadership and organization, and students are encouraged to join the conversation..
Application for most college committee student positions are made through the Associated Students of Centralia College (ASCC). All appointments are made by the ASCC Student Government.

Available Committees
Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Council (JEDI) –JEDI Council proactively supports efforts to make Centralia College a more equitable, accessible, diverse and inclusive community. Meets the third Thursday of the month at 3 pm. Two or three students needed
Student Conduct Committee – Meets in cases of disciplinary action. Five Students needed. Will meet once for a training and then only meet as needed.
Hazing Prevention Committee – Promotes and addresses hazing prevention. Three students needed. One of the three students must be from a student club, athletic team or living in CHI housing. Will meet once for a training and then only meet as needed.
ASCC Student Budget Fee Committee – A recommending body that reviews and recommends the Service & Activities Fee budget. It’s responsible for proposing program priorities, evaluating existing programs, proposing budget levels, and adjusting budget requests to the yearly budget allocation. Meets January to May, earlier if needed. Meeting times will be determined when committee is appointed. Five or six students needed. Meets winter and spring quarter.
Budget Review and Planning – Provides a forum for discussion of college budgets and use of financial resources that are reviewed and prepared with campus-wide perspectives and input. This committee shall work closely with the Vice President of Administration, the President’s Cabinet and provide recommendations to the Institutional Effectiveness Committee. Meets 2nd and 4th Mondays at 2 pm. One student needed
Campus Facilities & Safety Committee – Provides a forum where input from the college community regarding facilities and safety issues can be addressed. One student needed. Meets the fourth Friday of the month at 2 pm.
Student Policy Council – Looks at existing policies that effect students and update if needed and draft new policies when needed. Meets the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 2 pm. One student needed.
Curriculum Review – reviews college curriculum. Meets 1st and 3rd Mondays 2-3 pm. One student needed
Instructional Council – approves curriculum. Meets 1st and 3rd Mondays 3-4 pm. One student needed
Technology Committee – evaluates the technology needs of the campus and makes recommendations. Three students needed
Faculty Tenure Committee – Conduct an evaluation process of probationary faculty which reviews classroom teaching, committee work, advising, institutional contributions, community contributions and availability to students. Committees recommend the awarding or non-rewarding of tenure. Each tenure committee will determine its meeting time. One student for each committee (usually 20 committees each year).
Bookstore Advisory Team – This team will provide feedback to bookstore management on items to be sold in the store. Five or six students needed.
Outstanding Student Committee – Each year as part of the commencement ceremony, at least one student, but no more than six students shall be presented with the “Outstanding Centralia College Student Award.” Students selected for the award shall demonstrate broad-based excellence and achievement. Accordingly, criteria shall be established to reflect this philosophy of well-rounded accomplishment. Nominations and selection shall occur during each spring quarter. Meets two times in spring quarter. Two students needed
Distinguished Alumni – Review nominations for distinguished alumni. Meets twice during winter quarter. One student needed.
